Dear Entire MTEA Membership,
As you are hopefully aware, the Division of Pensions and Benefits has an online system, MBOS (Member Benefits Online System) where you can access your pension, benefits, and life insurance information as well as apply for a loan, buy back pension time for a leave of absence, get a retirement estimate, and change your beneficiary. MBOS is accessed through your myNewJersey account. It's important for all members to be aware of what benefits they're entitled to and to update beneficiaries as needed. I've attached a mini-tutorial that'll walk you through setting up your MBOS and myNewJersey accounts, if you haven't already done so. It also shows you several features you may find important, like how to take a pension loan or update your beneficiary.
As always, please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or concerns.
In solidarity,
Laura Rivera
Chief Negotiator and Benefits Chair
