SGPs will be 30% of a teacher's evaluation!
9/2/16
As you have probably heard, on Wednesday afternoon, 8/31, the NJDOE announced that the weight of the median student growth percentile (mSGP) for evaluation for teachers in tested subjects is increasing this year to 30%.
The attached advisory explains some of the details of this decision. Members will need to understand that the mSGP scores they receive this winter are actually for the 2015-16 school year and only count for 10%, while the 30% will be in effect for this year's PARCC scores that will be reported next year.
The advisory also contains a link to NJEA's statement on the change.
